[Chris Stein of The Guardian reports on April 14, 2025]:
'Democratic senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland will travel to El Salvador this week to visit his constituent Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia if he is not released from detention and returned to the United States.
'Van Hollen also requested that El Salvadors president Nayib Bukele meet with him during his visit to Washington DC to discuss Abrego Garcias return.'
Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia never should have been abducted and illegally deported, and the courts have made clear: the administration must bring him home, now. However, since the Trump Administration appears to be ignoring these court mandates, we need to take additional action, Van Hollen said in a statement.
"Thats why Ive requested to meet with President Bukele during his trip to the United States, and if Kilmar is not home by midweek I plan to travel to El Salvador this week to check on his condition and discuss his release."
'When he met Donald Trump in the Oval Office earlier today, Bukele said he would not return Abrego Garcia to the United States or release him from prison in El Salvador'.

He is my representative in Congress and has been at the front of this. I haven't heard anything from Hoyer. Hoyer is MD5
I think this man and his family live in MD4.

(11,143 posts)And the official word from the administration will be that he was taken by 'dissidents' or something. They will never do much of anything to find out what happened and they will use that to make sure no more uppity Democrats will go abroad to try and undermine Dear Leader.
If something like this does not happen, I will be surprised. I cannot believe that he will just allow this person to go down there and learn the truth. At least there will be an 'international incident and then orange gibbon can deny anyone the ability to leave the country.... except approved travelers (who will bribe him to get on that list).
