Can we FINALLY stop calling them conservatives? There's nothing at all conservative about deporting American citizens!

Every time a Republican runs for president, in retrospect the pukes always say he failed because he wasn't conservative enough.

Reruns Raygun wasn't conservative enough, Poppy "fighter pilot" Bush wasn't conservative enough, Bob fucking Dole wasn't conservative enough.

Little Jethro Bush knew something big was coming that summer, was briefed that something big was coming, Atty Gen Ashcroft stopped flying commercial in July of 2001, because they heard something bad was about to happen. During the attacks, Jethro kept reading a goddamned book to schoolkids instead of doing his job, even though he KNEW something was about to happen and WAS happening while he sat there.

Jethro next started an elective war in Iraq, an unending war in Afghanistan, let New Orleans drown, and did exactly squat while the stock market crashed in 2008. Couldn't find Bin Laden, and then said "what me worry?" Bang up job, sonny!

But he failed because (according to conservative pundits) he just wasn't conservative enough.

Former prisoner of war, a third-generation Annapolis grad, John McCain wasn't conservative enough. Mitt "hostile takeover" Romney wasn't conservative enough. That's why they lost, if you still listen to them.

Drumpf crawled out of the clown car, trashed the Obama economy, gave billionaires even more billions, killed over a million Americans because he couldn't admit there was any illness he couldn't out-BS, and brought the economy to a grinding halt because freedom and tax cuts. When he lost the re-election he tried every trick in the book to overthrow the fucking federal government, but he wasn't nearly conservative enough.

These assholes decry conservation and are always about chopping down every last tree, digging up dead dinosaurs and destroying the environment. Nothing remotely conservative in that.

Here comes Drumpf II and he's beginning this administration by taking a wrecking ball to the most powerful economy in the world, openly sucking Putin's cock, and deporting American citizens & legal residents to a for-profit gulag in a country that doesn't even have the decently to speak fucking English, but when his own people finally overthrow the bulging fat golfing fuck, they'll once again complain that he just wasn't conservative enough.

May we use a different word in the future? Driving the country into the ditch every time they're in office is not conservative in any way.

I'm taking suggestions below.

I'm too young to remember Reagan or Bush Sr but what I know from economics is they were into the trickle down theory, not Bush Sr at first--he called it "voodoo economics" when he ran against Reagan in a primary. Either way I think there was a recession in the late 80s. Before that I know of Hoover and how FDR saved the economy after the great depression which is easily an example I can think of where a Republican drove the country in the ditch and a Democrat saved it.

Same thing under Bush Jr which I do remember. He led us into a great recession which Obama had to deal with when he took office. Then Trump which brought us the Covid economy--inflation, supply chain issues, temporary spike in crime, etc which Biden had to deal with. Now Trump is driving this country into a ditch again.

McCain was a good guest because he was funny and direct, and audiences respected him.

Stewart and McCain parted ways when McCain got the nomination and selected Wasilla Barbie as his VP nominee. He was forced to act "more conservative" in order to keep his coalition. McCain lost votes when he corrected the lady who called Obama a muslim.

But when Obama actually repaired the economy, suddenly he was a radical leftist and due for impeachment.

Sound familiar?

And sometimes "deranged reactionaries."

I never liked spreading his brand name. And "right," whatever modifiers you put in front, doesn't work because it has nothing to do with right v. left or liberal v. conservative.

Reactionary isn't the best, but a significant driving force is people reacting and lashing out against fellow humans they believe are "taking away" the "rightful" place of white males at the top of the heap.
.

And then of course there is the long version: "coalition of Christian Nationalists, racists, xenophobes, women-hating deranged reactionaries empowered by immoral, Anti-American, greed-driven billionaire megalomaniacs who spent billions and decades creating a propaganda machine that brainwashed enough Americans to enable them to achieve their goal of destroying every institution capable of measuring or implementing the collective will of the people in accord with the constitution and expressed in our body of law. The specific goals of the deranged coalition partners may vary, but the first order of business has long been cutting the public out of the system.

The revolution they want to bring about is a post-Constitutional era where a monarch president elevates white Christian nationalism above all else. Very much like the reverse of 1776. Making America Great Again means returning us to colonial times where only those who bend the knee and pay tributes are truly free.
