Am I the only one who thinks there's something really, really out of whack with this Bill Maher thing?

I mean, we all knew Maher was an opportunistic asshole and a liberal-in-name-only.

We all knew that TSF is a shameless manipulator and liar.

We also know that TSF has no filter, is a seething mass of grievances, and has the self-control of a raging dumpster fire.

How you get from all that to Maher's monologue?

Also Ben Carson said the same thing when he endorsed him in 2016 that Trump is a different person behind closed doors. Not sure what is new with what Maher is reporting here.

Mafia dons were often wonderful family men, after all.

Trump is probably very cordial and friendly in private. Both Trump and Maher seem to operate from the same entertainment-dominated view: everything done in public is for show and therefore doesn't count, while what you do in private counts the most. It's why you'll hear Trump had a constructive call with a world leader. Trump looks at his public persona as a form of entertainment and doesn't seem to grasp that you can't walk it back in the political arena - that there is no separating your public/private persona like when you're doing The Apprentice and you can attack Gary Busey in front of the cameras and then slap him on the back and be his friend when the cameras are off.

For Maher, he probably operates the same way.

So, his private meeting with Trump ... well that's the real Trump!

Maher is no longer relevant.

I was once a big fan. Even attended the show once as an audience member. That was years ago before he started to reject science.

He is just no longer important. I haven’t watched much in years, now he’s dead to me.

Dear Bill,

In the outside chance that you may read the DU, may I say this with all sincerity:

FUCK YOU FOR TRYING TO NORMALIZE FASCISM.

Bill Maher currently works for HBO, hosting the show "Real Time with Bill Maher." Home Box Office (HBO) is an American pay television service, which is the flagship property of namesake parent-subsidiary Home Box Office, Inc., itself a unit owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. David Zaslav is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery. Zaslav was happy about Trump's election, the Warner Bros. CEO thinks "Trump will help in his plan to gobble up all the other streaming services." Zaslav needs Trump to grow his company. Maher knows what Trump is capable of when crossed, he's no fool.

Mentally weak but that serves his main purpose. Get attention for himself and his show.

IF he turns it around on subsequent shows I might forgive him for this mistake.

Maybe Covid brain?

He has changed.

they are both failed actors...I think they had bit parts in a couple of the same old tv shows back in the day...like "Murder She Wrote". Bullshitting their way to fame and fortune is their shtick.

An Apprentice producer weighs in on Maher getting used by Trump: “I assure you Trump is laughing and telling everyone around him how easy it was to manipulate Bill… Trump’s superpower is telling whoever he’s with what they want to hear…”
