Edited to add: This was a knee jerk response that I posted out of grief and anger. Actually there probably are many who care and will rethink their positions.

severely taken major consideration for my own personal view of the 2nd amendment.

What pisses me off about the entire ordeal (other than the actual murders) is my facebook page littered with posts from gun nuts who are posting shit about their guns, the 2nd amendment, making arguments, etc.

Not a single, solitary word about these children. I have no use being aligned with such heartless ghouls.

Guns versus our children? I choose our children.

I have also taken it upon myself to also improve my relationship with my own children. In just the past few days I have engaged in more simple 'life' things with my little girl, even challenging her to a brownie eating contest today. I also have not been able to get mad when my 8 year old son does something that could make me mad.

Life is fleeting, I have no interest in wasting it anymore on being my kids adversaries or obsessing over archaic views on instruments of slaughter.

And they wonder why the rest of us call it the "fetish," and obsession that it so clearly, painfully is...

at home (turns 6 on the 27th) and I care about her dearly. I'd give my life for her in a second, I'd do the same for my wife for that matter.

I'm a gun owner but I wouldn't call myself a "gun enthusiast", I'm well trained and I take firearm safety as seriously as it can be taken mostly due to the fact that I was forced to use a handgun to defend my family 4 years ago. I'm pretty certain that without my "registered", legally purchased CC self defense weapon I'd be visiting a couple grave sites today or be 6 feet under myself.

My heart aches for the families who lost children in the recent school shooting, the feeling I had when I came close to losing my own child and wife changed my outlook on life forever.
