To the world: It will NOT take a generation for America to restore its place as the beacon of Democracy and Freedom

We'll get that shit back in about 4 years, once the MAGAt dipshit movement is crushed.

But, rest assured, it will take multiple generations for ANY country that collaborates, cooperates, or supports this fascist Donnie Dipshit shitshow.

In fact, such countries will be lucky to survive the wrath of a sane America.

Please remember that Donnie Dipshit will NOT be around forever, but American Democracy will endure.

America will remember those who stood on the side of freedom and liberal democracy. AMERICA WILL NEVER FORGET THOSE THAT DIDN'T!!!

Trust is lost in buckets. If it comes back it comes back in droplets.

I endorse the thrust behind your post. The USA is not over, not finished, not dead, not done. The doom posters can stick their defeatism in their potatoes and eat it all.

President Xi has already won the war. He CANCELED the rest of their Boeing deliveries for 2025. Given that Ci is not a convicted criminal, he’s been able to travel the world recently, to form new trading alliances. The South Americans are happy to meet China’s agricultural product needs. China does not need us. The Europeans are happy to stab us in the back now that we’re no longer an ally.

A generation from now, we’ll be lucky if we can sell China cheap toys and tacky nick knacks. Well played, Xi. And Putin, of course.

American democracy as we have known it, is in fact, NOT enduring...
You seem to be sure that representative democracy in America will be intact in 4 years.

If we come out of this plunge into fascist oligarchy, it seems to me it will take quite awhile to repair the shock of these events, even with our best allies.

Where does your extreme optimism come from?

I don't think it's extreme optimism. Maybe it's just faith. Or a decision to remain upbeat instead of down in the dumps.

I don't know.

But it's better than nothing. I can't give up on this country yet. Some days are harder than others. But I'm not gonna lose ALL hope. Hey, SOMEBODY'S gotta keep a candle in the window.

thanks for your comments.

Until I see how this is going to be turned around, I am skeptical. Even if the assaults can be reversed or fended off, this country will not ever be the same or look the same to others IMO. When you're crossing the Rubicon, it's hard to imagine a future that operates the same way as before. It will be a new world. Maybe even a better world. Not a matter of giving up on America so much as a question about how to navigate that radical change of perspective. We can't just give up the fight, no, but we can't take anything for granted.

this regime ultimately ends up lasting...yes, it's going to take at least a generation. There's no way it can't. Past is prologue, and the historians and sociologists all seem to agree on that point. Hell, , I don't think I have it in myself to endure 4 years of this just to see whether we even still have non-rigged elections or not.

Don't get me wrong, I desperately hope you're somehow right, but personally, I wouldn't feel remotely comfortable delivering such a bold statement to the rest of the world right now.

If the economy turns to s***, the dollar crashes, hyperinflation, millions of people end up unemployed and in the streets, the lights start going out, food starts becoming scarce, then the Turd will likely be impeached and forced to resign or arrested.

On the other hand, if things remain relatively normal, the economy remains stable enough and most people still have their creature comforts, he will get away with it and that will be the end of the Republic.

Remember when the US toppled democracies and installed murderous psychopath dictators?

Remember the Vietnam-War?

Remember when the US killed anti-war protesters?

Remember Segregation?

Remember Reagan refusing to do something about AIDS because it was infecting homosexuals?

Remember when the US Supreme Court stole the 2000 election and installed George W. Bush?

Remember the Iraq-War being started over WMDs that the entire world told the US don't exist?

Remember torture-prisons like Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay and how the US Executive, Legislative and Judicative all agreed that torture is ok if the US does it?

Remember how Obama normalized drone-warfare and killing people at the push of a button?

Remember how half the US enthusiastically elected a fascist?

The difference between the US in the past and now is that in the past US presidents respected the Constitution and treated US citizens, permanent residents and foreigners in the US with a modicum of respect. Now the country is run by an ugly, bloated wannabe mobster and there's no respect for the rule of law unless it suits him.

I could add quit a few to your list, but the think you've captured the major ones.

Some are incorrectly assuming that this is some type of permanent shift toward American fascism, and NOT the temporary. insane ravings of a cult.

America WILL regain its sanity.

An American administration that actually believes in the rule of law and liberal democracy, whether Democratic, or Rebuplican, will take power.

Bukele and other authoritarian dipshits will then never know a single, solitary moment of peace.

The Vichy French, Italians, Austrian, Polish, Dane, Hungarian Nazi collaborating people all believed they were part of a permanent shift to a "new Reich".

They weren't!

Bukele and others that collaborate with this fascist evil, will be required to scurry from hidey-hole to hidey-hole like Sadam Hussain and Ghadafi.

If Bukele is lucky, he'll get the chance to chew on a Luger like Hitler, before he ends up in the general population of his own death prison.
