Fux Noise smears Obama as antisemitic--because he likes free speech

Playing defense for President Donald Trump, Fox News floated the notion on Tuesday that former President Barack Obama is antisemitic for backing free speech at Harvard University.

Harris Faulkner, host of “The Faulkner Focus,” offered up the smear during a discussion of Trump’s efforts to curtail free speech at the school.

“Would that put former President Obama and others in his political camp—by the way, he went to Harvard Law School—you know, pushing against, are they antisemitic?” Faulkner asked. “We can't say whether or not they are, I'm just asking the question, because I'm not listening to what they're saying, because I almost don't believe them, because I can see what they're doing.”

Throughout its 29-year history, Fox News has often hidden behind the notion of “just asking questions” to lodge attacks against the left.

1. Trump's accusations of systemic anti-Semitism at universities were always a smokescreen.

While there have been instances of anti-Semitic speech and harassment of Jewish students, and some schools didn't address those situations very effectively, nobody seriously believes that major universities are harboring or encouraging anti-Semites, more specifically anti-Semitic foreign graduate students. Trump and his goons care nothing about anti-Semitism, which should be blindingly obvious from their frequent association with Nazi-adjacent characters and a few actual Nazis. What they're really trying to do is control and suppress speech and thought in higher education by accusing anyone who objects to their high-handed, Stalinist demands of anti-Semitism. Since no decent person or institution wants to be accused of that, Trump figures they'll cave (and Columbia U. to its everlasting disgrace, did cave, which has done it no good whatsoever). But Harvard said No, and Fuck you, and Fuck you some more. So, of course, anyone who defends Harvard must be an anti-Semite.
