Jaywalking led to 2 officers being shot, suspect killed during shootout at Fulton County motel
South Fulton Police Chief Keith Meadows confirmed that Lt. Charles Cook was shot three times and is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
A Fulton County officer, whose name has not been released, was also shot and injured. Chief Meadows said that officer’s injuries were minor.The suspect was shot and killed. His identity has not been released.
Fulton County Police Chief W. Wade Yates said his officer used his first aid training to apply a tourniquet to Lt. Cook, likely saving his life.
Chief Meadows said he spoke with the Fulton County officer, who commented that he didn’t know if he would have survived had Lt. Cook not been there.
