The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. Were already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.

(38,824 posts)Turnout was smaller than 4/5 - BUT the start of the protest coincided with pull-your-car-over-not-safe-to-drive rains and the two were simultaneous (so you had to choose).
I took my latest art piece. I decided it needed to go work, rather than hang around on my wall.

(2,158 posts)I couldn't participate today. But we did drive by here in Lincoln NE. I went late and I'll bet there were 300-400 or more I never was good at estimating crowd sizes.

(10 posts)Close to 400 demonstrators in the little desert community of Joshua Tree, Ca. We were @ 600 feet from the Joshua Tree National Park visitor center. Responses from passing motorists were uniformly enthusiastic and supportive.

(5,221 posts)It was cold and rained the entire time, but I had a great experience and met some really cool people. My sign read: "Too much shit to list" on one side and "F ELON & 47" on the other side. Some of the others I liked were: "If you can't spot the con, you are the mark. Wake up!" "That smell of a rotting Republic is MUSKy" "The Emperor's new clothes (T💩p in an orange jumpsuit)" and "Measles Are Going Around" (MAGA). The last one was written on a white board this guy bought because there is so much to protest against. I thought it was a great idea.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
