Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) suggested Monday that the US government may have played a role in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks during an interview with MAGA influencer Benny Johnson on The Benny Show.

The senator, who sits on the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, questioned the official explanation for the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 and echoed claims frequently raised by conspiracy theorists on the fringes of the internet.

“Within these agencies, a lot of them are going to cover their tracks and cover things up and destroy a lot of evidence,” the senator said. “It’s gonna be very frustrating for the American public because this is their information. They deserve the truth. It’s been hidden from them way too long.”

Sen. Johnson praised Benny Johnson for “opening up the aperture on 9/11” and referenced firefighters’ statements about the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

“I know you and I are both considered conspiracy theorists,” Johnson said, “but that’s exactly how they keep this stuff covered up.”

I believe “W” himself actually described the 9/11 attacks as a “New Pearl Harbor”.

On the morning of 09/11/01, as I was getting ready to go to the office, ABC television news was on mute while I did my morning devotional. Then, when I went to turn up the volume, I was transfixed by what I saw - a single skyscraper with flames shooting through the roof which suddenly exploded and collapsed into its own footprint. “Ah,” I thought to myself, still not recognizing the building, “it’s a planned demolition. Like one’s I’ve seen before on the news.”

When I finally turned on the volume and heard the commentators talking about the twin towers I was beyond horrified. And I will never forget what saw.
