Government Innovation And The Internet

Musk and his gang seem to think that nothing good ever comes from government, but the entire Internet industry grew out of a Department of Defense project called ARPANET. So Musk would not have made his initial Paypal fortune without the role of government innovation. No government, no internet. And he sucks up billions in government contracts with Space X and other companies. He is either an idiot or a hypocrite, and possibly both.

Here is a link to the Wikipedia article on ARPANET for anyone that might be interested.--

Also, a good book on the history of the development of the internet is "Where Wizards Stay Up Late". Here is a link to its Amazon listing. The book is somewhat dated (1998) but it is still interesting history--

Which is a multi-government project.

As for modern rocketry ... well, you do have to give the German government a lot of credit for that.

All of those rocket scientists came from Germany but they were brought to America under Operation Paperclip and they worked under the auspices of the US Government. Werner von Braun being the most famous of them.
