On Easter Sunday, Trump departed the White House without informing the press pool of his destination, raising fresh concerns about transparency. According to pool reports, members of the in-town press corps were loaded into vans Sunday morning and began moving with the presidential motorcade before being told where they were headed.
Trump was briefly seen exiting the North Portico wearing a red and white Gulf of America hat, according to a pool report. While Trump hats may have been a clue about a potential golf trip, White House officials still withheld details of the destination even as the vehicles rolled out.
The motorcade arrived at Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Virginia, around 11:38 a.m., where the press pool was diverted to a separate location on the grounds and did not see the president exit his vehicle. Roughly four hours later, Trump departed the club without being seen again, and only upon returning to the White House was he visible to the pool, waving as he entered the residence.
Trump was not made available to the press for photographs at the club itself, shielding the nature of his Easter activities from public view. Social media posts from attendees later confirmed Trump spent the day golfing.

(49,692 posts)Maybe its for the best if he doesnt, but if youve got a big family like he does, Easter is one of those days when lots of people have family get togethers. Even if youre not religious, many still gather for a nice meal and fun activities for the kids.

(1,078 posts)...a step forward. Being aware that other people are judging you for your actions is the first step in learning that you shouldn't do that thing. Who knows? Golf today; illegally deporting people tomorrow?

(13,430 posts)And why does the press pool get into a van without knowing where they are going. I wouldn't put it past trump to disappear them.

(114,684 posts)the White House lawn, did you? Somebody might have looked at the cute kiddies instead of at him.
He wasn't going to put in an appearance at a church and he wasn't going to put up with a Wjite House holiday tradition.
All he cares about is himself.

(7,370 posts)I rarely hit the course, but when friends and I do, we like to take our time. We don't rent the golf cart as we like getting the walking excercise. Small talk on the putting green, etc.
But the more "prestigious" the golf course, the more angry old white guys on the course. Think we once had nearly a dozen groups play through. They were on carts and just unpleasant. And they tried to get through the course as fast as they could. Never can understand that, you just dropped some bank, take advantage of the peace, quiet and green space. Nope, they want to be in and out. So why are they even golfing? And they play the course far more than I do. The Mad Clown King strikes me as one of those who plays with a chip on thier shoulder all the time, like they don't enjoy it, but still keep playing.
