The Department of Justice just outright refuses to acknowledge that the Supreme Court said what it actually said.

I am utterly baffled by the highlighted part, which isn't even a quote from the Supreme Court's order. What are they doing?!

Okay, I can't get over this. The Department of Justice put a FAKE QUOTE from the Supreme Court in a response to discovery, like no one would notice?

Hah, I was so shocked over the DOJ inventing a quote from a Supreme Court decision to get around their obligations I didn't even notice the typo within said fake quote.

i was never a DOJ attorney but my boss would not have been happy if I'd put "United State" in any pleading or discovery document

G.O.P.. has a well established reputation for lying to the citizens of our nation.

Jesus does not like G.O.P. BEARING FALSE WITNESS I am certain.

Thanks Philip. So it's not a fully invented quote, it's just bad lawyering that puts an order from Judge Xinis into the mouth of the Supreme Court (with typos).

Looks like it is from Xinis's order following the SCOTUS decision. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
