Walter Cronkite is spinning in his grave.

For years, he was the voice of credible journalism and reporting in this country. People believed him.

But now, his beloved CBS is about to bend the knee to Donald Trump and his extortion practices.

Just a couple days ago, the producer of 60 Minutes, the flagship news program resigned because he was losing the freedom to independently report on what he deemed important and necessary.

The owner of the parent company, Paramount, is looking to make a big merger and she needs the support of the White House, in order to make the deal and make her richer.

But when she makes that deal, that will severely damage the news reporting and the legacy of CBS News. It will impact and affect other news organizations that attempt to report the news as fairly and independently as is possible in these times. What type of deals will they have to make with the new rulers?

In my opinion, this is an important story and we should all be aware of what direction CBS News and 60 Minutes are going?

I dated Walter's son for a hot minute in the late 70's. Even he had no idea his dad's political leanings or who Raftergirl Apr 2025 #1
