Leaders urge public to 'rise above' after vandalism to historic Tucson synagogue

The Chabad Tucson Historic Teen Synagogue was vandalized on April 21, and members of the church community are calling it an antisemitic act of hate.

Chabad Tucson said congregants saw the purple spray-painted words "end apartheid" and "abolish Israel" as they were arriving for morning services.

The graffiti was directly under the Star of David emblem on the historic building on the corner of Fourth Street and Tucson Boulevard.

The Tucson Police Department said its investigation was underway and the incident was being investigated as having "a hate crime nexus," and hateful motivations. They said, "no suspect information is currently available, and detectives are working on gathering additional information." They are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME (520-882-7463).

The RWers a confused lot.

We allowed antisemitism to be on a low boil until it made us feel as if it were declining.
