"Democratic members of Congress should probably be made to understand that

unless they throw everything they have at this, they are next." Ned Resnikoff on bluesky "reskyed" by Aaron Rupar.

He also recommends calling your representatives about this and sounding the alarm. As we have unfortunately seen in the past few months, the leadership not only responds to phone calls, but seems to need them before they react with urgency.

I'm getting a bit tired of randos on social media advising and warning and admonishing Democratic members of Congress of anything.

It's insulting and inciting.

Google say's he's a "former journalist." An "independent urban policy consultant," too. So, clearly he knows better than anyone.

Aaron Rupar, the other name in the article is apparently an "Independent journalist and publisher of the Public Notice newsletter." Another bright light in the information industry I suppose.

OK, guys, thanks for the advice. I'm sure Democratic legislators have been waiting to hear from you...

Well, apparently he's some guy who's urging people to contact their elected representatives to voice their concern:

He also recommends calling your representatives about this and sounding the alarm.

That doesn't really seem to me like it's out of line.

legislators. I do it all the time. Some of them know me from their past and recent campaigns. I'm not as active in campaign and party work as I was, but at a couple of months short of 80 years old, I don't get around as well as I used to.

I keep up communications, though.

See, I thought that everyone knew that it is good to let your elected officials know what you think. Doesn't everyone do that? If not, they should.

You may have missed my point, somehow.

I'm genuinely surprised that it would arouse anyone's ire to see that someone has said online that elected reps should act decisively on a certain issue, and has urged others to contact the reps with their concerns.

I'm sorry if I seem obtuse, but no, I really don't understand.

on DU. Who are those people, and why should we be interested in what they're saying. I'm also a journalist. I've been a Democratic party activist since the 1960s. I've been a precinct chair and an active campaigner.

I post things like that all the time here and elsewhere. It's hardly remarkable, apparently.

I seldom miss an opportunity on DU to ask who the hell cares what James Carville has to say. Looks to me like your post was in a similar vein.

Just having a blog or newsletter or something like that on the Internet is easy. I could start one today on substack. And nobody would know who the heck I was either. So I don't do that.
