RFK Jr. eliminated the entire office responsible for administering the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programa program that helps people heat their homes.
Reps. Gwen Moore and Mark Pocan are standing up for Wisconsinites against this reckless administrationand were standing with them. Sign our petition to join Reps. Moore and Pocan, and condemn RFKs dangerous decision.

(197,177 posts)Acorn was a big factor in covering heat for the old and poor. I dont know if the regular payments programs with major energy companies was theres but the timing is right.
ACORN had internal embezzlement issues but it didnt affect services. THEN Acorn went into voter registration as a revenue source and tried to stop predatory payday and title loans. The hammer came down in the form of that little dipshit OKeefe and was amplified by media.

(15,593 posts)It's their own fault for any number of reasons, and like all conservative types, he's come to believe unless someone or an act of Gawd directly caused you to not have the money to pay for heating come the next seasonal change, it's a moral hazard for the Government to let you and your family learn to be lazy, looking for a handout from the taxpayer.
Whatever he was before when he used to be a lawyer on Air America back in the day, he's now just another aging testosterone addled sperm donor lottery winner and Eugenicist dabbling with the latest Influencer circle madness to remain relevant.

(37,189 posts)Money for heating and cooling assistance for those in need is on the line.
As part of the cuts to the Department of Health and Human Services earlier this month, the Trump administration reportedly fired the staff that runs the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP. That program helps about 6.2 million low-income households nationwide pay their home energy bills.
Congress already approved funds for the program for fiscal year 2025, but with the staff gone, the rest of the allocated money is currently frozen.
For more on this, we're joined by Logan Atkinson Burke, executive director for the Alliance for Affordable Energy. That's a consumer and environmental advocacy group in the state of Louisiana.

They should be proud to suffer the "American dream", said a man born to riches, security, privilege, and private education.
Its not much of a dream for it to be the rich enjoying preying on everyone else.

But then that's what the filthy-rich want.
