Mail that was deleted over 10 months ago is appearing in my inbox and I can't seem to get rid of it. HELP if you can.
A friend on the other side of town told me that she was having a similar problem with Gmail.

(18,690 posts)I have not had this particular problem, but I've had two very unsettling things happen, out of the blue, in the last week. It's good to compare notes.
Bookmarking too.
Good luck trying to figure this out. As I said, it is good to ask about these things to gauge if they are widespread.

(24,486 posts)I'm guessing that if there were in any way a significant problem that we would see many, many posts complaining about it.
This is like the "I didn't get my SS deposit" complaint on DU when it sits by itself when if it were true for the implied reason there would be hundreds of complaints about it.

For me, gmail isnt a throwaway email option. Im retired and dont have access to anything else even close to as robust an email utility as gmail. I dont want Microsoft to be my email provider. And I dont use Apples email on my iPad either.

(5,013 posts)Are you sure you are seeing deleted mail in your inbox and not actually looking the trash folder. I know that happened to me once. With multiple tabs open, I didnt realize I was actually in the deleted folder when I was trying to find an email.
On my phone sometimes I have trouble moving an email to a folder. So, I just wait until Im back using my iPad.

(103,817 posts)I have been locked out of my gmail acct of over twenty years since April of last year. Wouldn't recognize me when I traveled and even when I was at home. Wanted too much personal info, including my phone number so they could text some magic login code that didn't work. They wanted other email addresses and I decided they didn't need that and whatever was on my gmail acct was gone forever and found a new service.
I use protonmail.com now. If you want more than the minimum storage space you have to pay for it. I don't have much interaction through email anymore so I stay with the free storage space... I delete stuff after I've dealt with whatever it was about.
They are from Sweden and I like that they don't have connections to the mega platforms here.
