Trump turns on 'buddy' Putin over Ukraine, says he'll slap Russia with sanctions now

US President Donald Trump ripped into Vladimir Putin on Saturday, warning Russia could face heavy sanctions after missile strikes on civilians in Ukraine.

After months of flaunting his so-called friendship with the Russian president, Trump says he’s hurt now and doesn’t think Putin had any real interest in stopping the war despite their talks, so Moscow might need to be punished through “Banking” or “Secondary Sanctions.”

In a long rant on Truth Social, Trump said, “No matter what deal I make with respect to Russia/Ukraine, no matter how good it is, even if it’s the greatest deal ever made, The Failing New York Times will speak BADLY of it.”

Trump then dragged Peter Baker, calling him “the very biased and untalented writer for The Times,” and accused him of writing that Ukraine should get back all its territory, “including, I suppose, Crimea, and other ridiculous requests.”

Russia is already sanctioned up the wazoo. Prove you care more about Ukraine than your bromance with Putin and stop bitching about how this isn’t your war. Unwavering military support for Ukraine is how this ends, not economic slaps on the wrist.

as term one when Trump was NATO bashing and fawning over his pal, then facing some blowback at being caught out being influenced he attacked Putin to show his independence- without changing any of his pro-Putin actions. Same sleazy way of denial and asserting his independence when his actions make the "indignation" meaningless. Probably came out when the NYT made "news" discovery that gee, gosh, golly, if not a Russian agent, Trump might as well be for all his actions? Putin does not take that too seriously, but how much patience does he have for Trump's cowardly sensitivity?

What Trump is probably saying is that "don't you dare try to play me(with that file)" then go back to more intense Ukraine bashing to prove he is still Putin's puppet.

IOW, this is just an empty threat so Trump can make himself appear tough. That's the sum total. Our deliberately OBTUSE media cannot convey this simple fucking concept to people. I guess because our citizenry are fucking simpletons.

to do something!'
