All those would end if we became your 51st state. Besides, in case you hadn't noticed you couldn't make Canada one state. It's too fucking big. It's bigger than the entire United States. It would become the states of Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Nunavut, Yukon and the Northwest Territories. The NDP party (left of centre) held power from 2015 to 2019 and a recent & popular mayor of Calgary was recently selected as leader of the party.

The Progressive Conservatives (right of centre) now in office are generally IMO not that much farther to the right politically than the US Democratic party. IOWs there would be a good chance that a US state of Alberta (ugg, sorry) would vote Democratic.
