except go on FAUX, apparently where he said:
"I'm hearing an awful lot from manufacturers in Wisconsin. If this thing drags on, the tariffs remain high, their businesses will be put out of business."
Isn't it terrible that this is happening to poor Ron and his constituents, and he is helpless to do anything about it?

(26,257 posts)the economy does the moron have to destroy until any of these thugs wakes up, if ever, to even remotely do anything to really address this idiot and keep him from damaging the Country (he has already damaged it, destroyed a fairly robust economy when he took over in Jan. 2025). How many fake/false excuses will the moron keep uttering before any repug says or do a damn thing? By then, it'll be too late...

(24,978 posts)It sounds like Ronnie is getting scared because he knows the @# is about to hit the fan, but he's still not scared enough to DO anything.

(5,989 posts)until some rich MFs who they believe have more power than the moron-in-chief start losing money and threaten them OR if the polls (in 2 years) show they are about to lose reelection (and even then I'm not convinced they would do anything). The reality is that too many repugs are completely OK with what he is doing.

(13,018 posts)Have to react. His brain dead followers do. You know, the ones losing jobs and homes. If they are allowed to vote in Gerryville , ever again. And the votes are not thrown away to appoint Ronnie back. I.e. North Carolina own Gerryville.

(920 posts)I have hated him for years now, ever since I saw him on TV explaining why he wants to get rid of Social Security. He is one of the worst of the Republicans, and that is saying a lot. I hate his guts. Fascist collaborator. Also an economic idiot for following Trump off of a cliff.

(2,800 posts)They are basically 10%. Trump has walked back more than 90% of his threats. China remains at 145%, but electronics and auto parts are mostly excluded.
I'm not saying there is no impact, but if he is hearing from constituents, just wait until the announced tariffs ACTUALLY happen. He thinks people are mad at Johnson and Trump now? He hasn't seen anything yet.
On top of the tariffs, the dollar has lost 10% since the election. That's exactly like another 10% tariff on imports, except that the US gets no income from that lost 10% value. It is just gone. That' more likely what importers are feeling now. Everything their import costs 10% more dollars than it cost with Biden was President.
And it doesn't end there. We just learned that 1Q had a DECLINING GDP, and that was BEFORE any of these tariffs came into plan. Q2 will almost certainly be another decline because people are now getting afraid of losing their jobs so they will cut discretionary spending. And we will get few foreign vacationers here this summer. So recession, dead ahead.
Don't waste all your tears just yet, Ronnie Boy. It gets worse, much worse. And we can't help you fix it. Republicans have to take this guy out.

Everything bad that has befallen the people of Wisconsin has done so because they voted for Johnson twice ant Trump again in 2024. If they take their complaints anywhere but there, they are directing them in the wrong direction.

(24,486 posts)couldn't be bothered to vote in 2010 while Republicans turned out to vote like it was their duty. Also, in 1 election, the state flipped from total Democratic control to total Republican control with Scott Walker becoming governor. Johnson was reelected in '16 and '22 so unless he retires he is up for reaction again in '28.
Our other WI senator? Tammy Baldwin, who was reelected last November. So how do we get such different senators from the same electorate?

(24,486 posts)Feingold waited for 6 years so he could get revenge on Johnson but he ran a lackluster campaign and lost again.
I think that Feingold could have beaten Walker in his recall election in 2012 because he was still popular here and had statewide name recognition, but no, he wanted Walker. After Feingold lost to Johnson again I didn't hear anything about him anymore.
Googling him I found he served as President of the American Constitution Society at Stanford Law School until he stepped down this year.
