Kudos and Thanks to Rachel Maddow

Rachel said she would be on the job and keep us informed for the first 100 days, and promptly went back to reporting 5 nights a week immediately.
In my observation, she did not miss a single night.
She was on top of our protests, and on top of our need to know.
She was tireless and brought to our attention many atrocities that were being committed against us that others had missed or chosen not to report.

I don’t know how else to thank Rachel but to humbly present her with a vast and beautiful bouquet of art.
Just like her work.

I love you and am so grateful for you, Rachel Maddow.

And the fact that she can deliver complex information in a way that is relatable. She can sound the alarm without making our situation seem hopeless. She promotes a vision for how the dictator can be defeated and how people and institutions are fighting back in effective ways.

It's not what I would like, but she isn't gone and will make the best of it. I like how she has taken care of herself and her other pursuits. Actually - I LOVE that. She justifiably earns a substantial amount of money. I love that, too. So I sent her the painting of the gorgeous flowers. She could buy it. YES. More power to capable women.

…and letting us know we are not alone.

In fact, that’s what I’ve said to several people along the way. They, wonderingly taking in the crowd: “I am not alone.” Me: “No, we certainly are not alone. “

Rachel has been invaluable, and will continue to be.

But rarely saw her show. May have looked at part of a segment or two online but can't really remember anything.
I refuse to live in a 24/7 news bubble. There are better uses for my time and better things to watch on television. I'd rather watch an episode of Ghosts or Abbott Elementary or Bar Rescue or The Food that built America the watch news all day. It's better for my mental health in the long run. And I highly recommend it to many of the people here. There is a point when an interest turns into an unhealthy obsession.

Thanks for the recommendations for other TV fare and your concern about watching news all day putting mental health at risk. Rachel came on for an hour on weekdays, and that is now over. Kegseth, though, may need a Bar Rescue a lot more often.

In regards to her balance, I am also grateful for the one night she took off to attend to her primary personal relationship. Sending gratitude also, to her beloved Susan, for her patience and for sharing Rachel with us all in our nations time of profound need.

Most of us know the pain of watching our mates work too hard, be consumed by the needs of others and the desire to step up and shoulder more responsibility than one person should be asked to carry. Not unlike military spouses, Susan's generosity of time, energy, and love for both Rachel Maddow and our nation is profound and we owe her our thanks too. Serving the nation is personal, but also affects families.

Thank you, Rachel Maddow. And thank you, Susan, for the gift your perseverance gave our beloved nation. Now, take that incredible lady out for some well earned rest.

And to all families who generously give their members' time to serve the public good. I fully concur with your thanks to Susan; it must have been a grueling time for both of them, but it never showed in Rachel. Through her honesty with us she was able to drain some of the nerve-wracking emotion she felt so it
did not have to lurk under cover.

back when Christine "I am not a witch" O'Donnell was running to fill Biden's Senate seat in Delaware.

Rachel was magnificent. She had an aura of greatness about her. She was on top of everything. In control of everything, but with kindness & respect to her staff. She was serious about her job, working every minute and kept her cool in a barroom full to the brim of noisy people. Even though they'd paid to see her, you know how crowds are. But she was able to tune it all out, on her laptop rewriting scripts and probably directing various aspects of what the staff was doing.

I hate being in crowded spaces, but the minute I heard we could get tickets I was on it. I'm so glad we were there to see her in person.

She really helps me psychologically in a way others don't. Lawrence does it, as does Nicole. It's just her thorough, documented, no fluff or added bs approach that really appeals to me. But I understand she wants to do more and respect that.

I'll lean on the other two, and I've started to really like Chris Haye's show. It's a long-standing habit for me to watch at that time going back to the beginning of Countdown, with Keith. I'm sure I'll survive. Jen Psaki is excellent, I know. She's a little too low key for me.

Joe and Mika whom I never warmed to, but did listen to on some mornings, lost me when they went to kiss ass and then unconvincingly tried to defend it.
I now turn on and look at what scarf I imagine myself strangling Mika with. Then I go and watch any of the suggestions in reply number 18.
