Bigoted and full of hate Catholic Cardinal

I will never understand how so-called religious “clergy” can be so full
of HATE and BIGOTRY towards other people.

These So-called ‘Christians’ that do the complete OPPOSITE of what
Christ stood for.

Catholic Cardinal says the next pope must move against homosexuals because church doctrine has to be based on what Jesus said. Only problem? Jesus never said one single word about homosexuality. Or abortion.

“Doctrine is not the property of the pope, the bishops or the faithful. It must conform to the word of Jesus, no one can modify it. If Jesus says that marriage is between a man and a woman, no one can change this doctrine. The homosexual lobby wants to equate marriage with unions between people of the same sex, but this totally contradicts the doctrine of the bible. We must return to orthodoxy, doctrine founded on scripture and apostolic tradition, and against heresy.”

– German Cardinal Ludwig Müller, speaking to the Italian newspaper La Stampa. Müller, a regular on far-right US podcasts, was a loud critic of Pope Francis, accusing him of “surrendering” on LGBTQ issues. He’s also an anti-vax nutbag.

“I will never understand how politicians who call themselves
Christians can read the Gospels and then treat the poor and the sick
like dirt.”
- James Martin, Jesuit priest

Posters should remember the "5 Ws"- Who, What, When, Where, and Why - and they should be in the first or second paragraphs of a story. Not all of us appreciate chasing links

The Catholic Church, as an organization, is akin to the Trump regime. The Church is heartless and cruel. Go ahead, look it up and see its history of abusing Native Americans, of sexually abusing children everywhere--AND TRYING TO COVER IT UP--of hoarding billions and billions while the poor are asked to give more and more to the church. Look at its history of selling indulgences to the naive, indulgences necessary to enter heaven. Look at its history of aiding and abetting the Nazis. LOL

The Catholic Church is an authoritarian bunch of hypocrites who want to tell everybody else what to do and how to do it. No wonder Trump wants to be the next pope.

(And just for the record, many of my friends are Catholic. They are good people who have no connection to the hierarchy of hypocrites.)

bigotry and self-hate. I love most of the teachings of Jesus but I never read in red anything about homosexuality.

On the other hand, there is Paul, who seemingly had a myriad of problems including low self-esteem who seemingly was a bigot, had identity issues, disliked women, wanted to commit suicide but was afraid to, was a great organizer but poor businessman, murderer, homeless, single, childless but always giving marital and family advice, and finally found a way through his conditions in Philippians.
