(7,591 posts)Always wonder why some TV producer does not resurrect the Laugh In formula for today...lots of short, quick jokes -- then moving on clippity clop.

that barrage! I used to watch tv in hotel rooms, but a couple years ago, I couldn't take it anymore. After 5 minutes of a show (forensic files), they ran 11 commercials in a row.
i could not tell you what even one of them was trying to sell. I turned off the tv and since then I just watch youtube or netflix on my computer when I travel. I don't even turn the tv on.

(6,027 posts)Other forms of TV require residuals, Reality Shows are classified as documentaries so the participants don't get residuals from reruns. And Reality shows likely aren't under union workplace safety rules either.

(170 posts)Johnny Carson laughed because thought it was part of a comedy routine when Ruth Buzzi said she was from a place with the "funny" name of Wequetequock, but that is where she really was from. It's part of Stonington, CT, and still home of Buzzi Memorials.

(12,422 posts)I was always excited to see her on That Girl and Laugh In plus everything else she was in. I wasn't born yet or cognizant enough for her earliest work so I might just have to dig around youtube and see what I can find that I may have missed.
Maybe I saw it in re-runs but I can't recall.
Thank you Ruth for all of the laughs during my childhood and beyond!!
