Public Notice: Trump's brain is gone. It really should be a bigger story.

Public Notice - Trump's brain is gone. It really should be a bigger story.

Stephen Robinson
May 02, 2025

Donald Trump’s recent interviews with Time and The Atlantic revealed a president who is completely unhinged and incoherent. Sadly, that’s not news. But what stood out is that Trump is consistently confused and disconnected from reality even on issues that are supposedly in his wheelhouse.

Trump has always been an ignoramus who masks his intellectual shortcomings with bombast and declarations of his own brilliance, but his rambling nonsensical responses in these latest interviews should set off alarms — especially in light of all the media attention and scrutiny Joe Biden received after his disastrous debate performance or when Special Counsel Robert Hur described him as “a well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory.”

Trump, who turns 79 in June, is the oldest person ever elected president. His repetitive speech patterns, frequent use of empty phrases, and overall rambling discourse are too often graded on a curve.

White House officials and pandering Republicans might boast about Trump’s boundless energy in a manner that would shame North Korean state media, but the Time and Atlantic interviews tell a very different story.

Fri May 2, 2025, 12:17 PM
May 2025

he has done something great, others are unfairly attacking him, he doesn't know various people who criticize him unfairly etc. Every answer is something like that, no matter what the question. He has a long history of this. So it's difficult to say he is deteriorating, although his recent comments connecting Harlem riots with Harvard funding to Stephen Smith might be a sign things have gotten worse. If he has dementia it is not a memory loss variety but rather a cognitive variety.

Not too good. I did read the interview. He didn't do well. He didn't do well at all. He didn't do well at anything. And he cut that interview off to being a matter of minutes, and you weren't asking him questions like you're asking me.

It doesn't matter. He's just the distraction. He's the front man to cause the confusion so we all rally behind everything that he's attacking, while behind the scenes, those with a more nefarious agenda are doing what they want to.

Didn't Musk just get away with kneecapping the agencies that would have held him accountable for all his other crimes? Didn't he also walk away with all of the social security information from virtually every American?

Isn't trumph out selling snake oil and gold cards and properties and crypto on every street corner? Isn't he closing deals for trummp hotels in other countries, as well as expecting the rest of the world to come groveling to him for tariff relief? I wonder how much he's raking in from all this?

Isn't the heritage foundation still moving forward with their implementation of project 2025 in a way far beyond their wildest dreams?

Aren't the billionaires getting everything that they want too?

trumph is just the lightening rod. While we're watching him and distracted by his batshit crazy actions, we're being set up and robbed blind.

The sobering take by Ron Klain, who was Biden's Chief of Staff when he was VP and again when he was president, as well as brought in by Biden to prep for the debate, shows why that debate was going to be a disaster.

He didn't want to prep. Didn't seem to think he needed to. When they were able to get him to prep and mock debate, he often struggled laying out a reason voters should vote for him and then would say he was tired and go lay out by the pool.

Biden walked into a buzzsaw of his own making.

What's really frustrating is that Biden was the one who proposed that date - not Trump - fully knowing it would be a week or so after returning.

Whatever. It is what it is. Probably helped Democrats overall because it forced a change and made the election competitive. Had that debate gone down in September, like traditional presidential debates do, and Biden is already locked in as the nominee, it would have been much worse for Democrats since it likely leads to a landslide loss that takes out Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin Dem senate candidates who barely won in real life.

74. Precisely!

the felon threw out so many lies when it was his turn to speak the Biden, who was tired from an international trip and who, i heard later also had covid, tried to figure out which one to tackle in his brief rebuttal time.

I got so pissed at people saying he looked old and confused and needed to drop out. And everytime i relive this story it makes me want to tell democrats to go to hell for what they did.

They lost the election and still don't know what the fuck to do about what's going on.

I vowed to not give money to them anymore. Especially the corporate dems which unmasked themselves during this sham.

We need new, young leaders that are not afraid to fight back otherwise dems will just keep losing.

I know this because I have been following them since I first voted in 1972 and they keep doing the same stupid things and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory over and over and over again.

The have a huge chunk of the responsibility for being where we are today and as we read daily they don't seem to be willing to fight back causing me to believe that they hope to win just because the other side is so bad. They may yet again be wrong.

I’ve listened and read what he has said and came to that conclusion years ago!

How anyone could listen to his disassociated ramblings and think: “Yeah; this putz should be president?”

68. It amazes me how many fucking people thought he was coherent in his first term. He sure as fuck wasn't. But that said,

he's gotten exponentially worse since then. He literally fucking sundowned for like half an hour on the fucking campaign trail.

Absolutely nothing Biden said or did even remotely compares to this shit.

73. Trump's cognitive decline will never lead to his removal from power

Despite unending efforts over the past ten years by attention-seekers like Bandy Lee, the number of people aware of, or caring about, Trump’s mental state has changed very little. If they don’t care already, they never will.

The only thing that might cause Trump to be removed from power before his term is up (besides death) is a catastrophic economic event, such as the collapse of SS or draconian cuts to Medicaid, which would likely trigger the 3.5% rule. If suffering becomes widespread enough, it will unite the people against the Trump administration, regardless of party, race or economic status.

The 3.5% rule:

75. Not really a surprise at all, is it?

The tradition of protecting a politician’s infirmities from public knowledge has been with us forever. That whole second term of Reagan’s… FDR’s physical limitations… Biden probably needed it less than most, at least until that debate night. What do we think is going on with Fetterman right now?

It’s axiomatic that the victim of advancing cognitive problems is least likely to recognize his own impairment. Others have to bring it to his attention, and that has to be intervention- style, by those closest to him, whom he trusts and respects the most. Opposition critiques mean nothing, all his defenses are up.

Unfortunately, Trump is surrounded by sycophants. I don’t expect that to change, do you?

76. Pretty sure he recently had a mini-stroke

Publicly. Remember when he was speaking and stopped and looked blank for about half a minute and then resumed and it was rambling and made no sense? That was it. And the WH has been covering for it ever since, but most of what he's said since then, including about being Pope, has been a worse word salad than usual.

I don't think Trump’s cognitive abilities and competence matter at all. It seems to me he is lying, and lying with a purpose, and is discovering that he doesn't even have to work very hard at it to be successful. His supporters admire the way he "owns" his opponents, and his opponents are distracted by the word salad and then head off down a dead end street, endlessly wallowing in the self congratulatory rite of pointing out "what a moron he is!" That weakens us and strengthens his base. His supporters think he is being persecuted, and his opponents think they have somehow "won" somehow when it is shown what an idiot he is.

This constant drumbeat of "he's losing it" is just a way of avoiding facing reality.

Trump is extremely dangerous, and continues to be extremely successful. Whether or not he is a clown, an idiot, demented, incoherent, or whatever is complexity irrelevant.
