He is not actually stupid, so he doesn't have that excuse. He was ignorant and uninformed as a voter, but he speaks articulately enough, despite having voted like a dumbass.

(69,364 posts)I wish the DNC would hire him and thousands like him for a year of intense debriefing, so that we can figure out how to win next time.
Questions I'd like to ask him:
1. What did Trump say and do that you liked?
2. What did Harris say and do that you didn't like?
3. Why did you trust Trump?
4. Why didn't you trust Harris?
5. Where do you get your news?
If we hire enough of them and ask the right questions, we might be able to wade through their bullshit, self-deception, and lies and figure out some themes.
Maybe it will be about more than plain old racism. Maybe we'd get some useful information.

(93,617 posts)What has Trump ever done that showed he cares about others ?
If Trump wasn't a white man he wouldn't get the support he did from many people.
They made excuses for the hateful bigoted vile white man who spread hate against others.
What these people really need to do is engage in self reflection and their own thoughts send feelings about other groups.

(69,364 posts)It infuriates me because Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were doing the things this guy wanted a president to do. Like millions of others, he allowed himself to believe that Trump was completely different than he is. He thought Trump would do all the right things - which is what Harris would have done.
It gives me hope because if Democrats can get a stronger message out maybe we can win back people like this voter. (Assuming that he really cares more about the economy and veterans rights than being mean to people of color - which was Trump's predominate message.)
