Jen Taub: The GOP in congress could remove Trump any minute they wanted to. Blame them.

Jen Taub
‪@jennifertaub.com‬
Focus people. Trump has the levers of power. The only people who can take them away from him are elected Republicans. And we must focus on that. Every single R in the house and Senate should be asked why they are not stopping him. They hold the power to impeach, convict, and remove

The Republicans in Congress could remove Donald Trump any minute they wanted to. Blame them. Tell them to get rid of him. There is no daylight between the Republican Party and Donald Trump.

I don't think they were putting country before party then. I think they did the calculation and determined keeping Nixon in office wasn't worth the downside. They got their clocks cleaned that November, too, but by 1980 - just six years later - the GOP had recovered just fine.

Would have impeached him a week after he was inaugurated in 2017...and in the 2020 election, Charged him with Treason the night of his insurrection....

And an hour after the House Impeached him, the Senate would have convened and voted GUILTY AS CHARGED........

They will try to deny. They will blame others. They will come up with a thousand reasons he wasn’t their fault. They must not be allowed to skirt around the basic issue. They are enabling him and they are as responsible as he is. If we somehow manage to survive this national disaster we must not try to make nice with them. We must not forgive and move on.

In "The Blues Brothers," John Belushi, playing Jake Blues, gives a comical series of excuses to his vengeful ex-girlfriend, played by Carrie Fisher, when they meet after he's missed her wedding. His alibis include running out of gas, having a flat tire, not having enough cab fare, and even citing natural disasters like an earthquake and a flood. [1, 2]
Here's a more detailed breakdown of the quotes: [1]

"It wasn't my fault, I swear to God!"

"I ran out of gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare."

"My tux didn't come back from the cleaners."

"An old friend came in from outta town."

"Someone stole my car."

"There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts."

"No, I didn't."

"Oh, please, don't kill us!" [1, 2]

Generative AI is experimental.

There is no Maga. Only Republicans. This is important because no Republican should have an excuse from carrying the blame. All Republicans are responsible for this. If you don't want to carry the weight of this Administration's crimes and blunders then, disassociate yourselves from the party, leave the party. Voters and politicians alike.

It's clear and simple. And, don't wait until the midterms when the writing will be on the wall. Do it now, when your decision has an impact. The act would be almost, heroic in the face of inevitable threats. Otherwise, if done after the midterms, the act could be seen as cowardly and unimpressive.

They won't simply because his administration gives them the illusion of staying in power.

They know that to oppose "trump" and his maga base is either political suicide or a division or even dissolution of the republican party.

They are clinging to white supremacy, racism, sexism, anti-womanism, hate and so on to the detriment of the American people.

They are the minority but will never accept that, not matter the eventual cost to humanity.
