10 laws that are 'ruining America

I saw this on Amanpour today and found it fascinating. It explains the roots of our present-day policies such as immigration, number of US representatives, and voting rights.

Also found this interview (audio) on "Fresh Air" which is a little more in depth.

Click the player at top of screen at this link, it's a good listen.

but 18 minutes of the YouTube vid and 36 minutes of audio is more time than I have to determine how to discuss this.
I would do better with a transcript or a synopsis in print. I read much faster than I have time to listen.

part to me was the discussion of why we only have 435 Representatives in Congress (which dates back to Pres. Wilson after the 1920 census) and how that could easily be changed with only congressional approval (not an amendment) and how it could be one of the solutions to our weird electoral college.

You are unusual - most people don't read anything over about 10 lines anymore which I think is detrimental to our democracy. Good for you. ☮
