What started conversation and from the go i saw the hat vets for Trump he was wearing was not gonna talk with the turd.
He commented on T shirt i was wearing aftermarket Airborne E.I.B. T Shirt i bought it years ago the local chapter of airborne association i belong to sells stuff like the shirt as fundraiser for charities i mentioned. And yesterday was laundry day i just grabbed shirt off the folded stack. As then and now i never took my time in service seriously.
Follow on conversation was you know i never took the oath to constitution i swore at 17 that serious yet in 2016 i understood i was still bound by it.

He rolled his eyes when i said J6 inbreds were domestic enemies as all MAGA. Or Trump Musk attacking V.A. the irony five time draft dodger wanting a military parade. Those parade dollars would be a great thing to help our homeless brother and sister veterans.
And don’t get me started on Petey i said good thing the Houthis did not get to read those unsecured text that could been bad moment for those aviators and you dam well know.

I am with you, having served in the Air Force I really don’t get any veterans love of Trump. He (and pretty much everyone in his cabinet) is antithetical to the oath they swore, to the values you are taught, to whom you would want beside you in a foxhole.

I was an anti-war hippie back in the day. Not once did ever see a service person spit on. We were never against the soldiers, just the war and the draft. In fact there were lots of vets at those demonstrations, lots and lots of them. I know a few magas now that talk a lot of crap and I remember them lying about being gay to doge the draft.
I went to a military high school and learned all I wanted to know about the army. When I got call in for my draft physical, I didn’t run away. I went with my tooth brush ready to go. At the last station they discovered a heart condition I didn’t know I had and got my 4F. Later I went on to take up boxing and running. I don’t trust most doctors to this day. My hero was Ali. “No Vietnamese ever did anything to me” and went to jail. Now that’s a war hero to me.

12. I don't get veterans voting for this MAGA shit. No one I knew was Republican, even the officers.

When the Iran hostages were freed, we all turned to each other and without a single naysayer, all agreed Reagan had done something dirty. "That motherfucker!" was pretty much it, word for word.

I was so short, as much as I regretted not being in the USAF anymore, I was glad that nasty bastard wasn't my CIC for long (about two weeks, actually). Man, those had been some tough times, worrying about our people and if we'd be in a war soon.
