Bison gores Florida tourist at Yellowstone National Park

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. — A man was injured in Yellowstone National Park when he was gored by a bison, the National Park Service (NPS) said on Wednesday.

It was the first reported incident of a person injured by a Yellowstone bison this year, and happened only about two weeks after the park opened entrances for the summer season.

The incident happened about 3:15 p.m. Sunday in the Lake Village area of the park. A 47-year-old man from Cape Coral, Florida, was gored when he got too close to a bison, NPS said in a news release.

The man sustained minor injuries and was treated by emergency medical personnel.

....(snip)....

Yellowstone requires people to keep at least 25 yards away from all large animals, including bison, elk, deer and moose, and at least 100 yards away from bears and wolves. ..............................(more)

Make a headline in the news. There are lots of dumbasses here in North Carolina, that loved Meadows, Cawthorn, Mark Robinson, and Virginia Fox and held up the seat for an elected Supreme Court Judge for seven months robbing needed money for Helena destruction. Plus NCGQP idiots we’re roaming around in trucks like Taliban, Hunting FEMA workers and threatening them for stealing their land.
So, make fun all ya want, I welcome the exposure of these idiots. We gotta know our enemy. Expose them, and most important laugh at them, the Florida Man Hero, Trump hates being laughed at.
But my idiots still do not equal the stupid corruption of Floridians in the White House, his cabinet, Congress, and, “Influencers” hell bent on burning us to the ground. And your Guv. All win with massive vote numbers. (Gaetz still qualifies.)
And here in WNC we are flooded most months with Florida MAN’s up here in their million dollar play houses, tearing down
Mountain tops and Mountain sides that create mud slide and floods, expecting us to bow to their brilliance and cash. And these are second or third homes.
So to avoid Florida Man headlines, so often, and us laughing at them, maybe not have them doing Florida man shit.
Laugh at NC Man all you want, they need exposed. I laugh at them daily, especially at Wally World. I go there just to walk through and laugh. We gotta laugh or we cry.
And the NC Karen’s………..we may be a leader in that category.

Last time I was at Yellowstone I saw idiots pulling over, getting out of their car, and RUNNING TOWARDS a bear with cubs in the meadow alongside the road.

They may not look fast but they are. I was once charged by a Bull Moose in Alaska when I was about 11 years old. I didn't think I could run that fast. I'd never get close to big game ever again!

Daddy dearest just had to get a pic of his little darling with a baby elk. Mama elk defended her young. That whole section of the park was closed for the following 15 days.

Honestly, I'm surprised the guy in the story only had minor injuries. He was lucky.

There are always clueless tourists wandering around national parks, and once trump started decimating park personnel levels, more people were going to get hurt. I just hope the wildlife aren't punished for these incidents---one way or another, it's stupid humans who are to blame.

Gran Teton NP in the 1980s. Guy silently walks up, sets a four year old on the back of a bison and steps back to take a photo. Bison takes off and charges right thru the guy. Guy suffers a broken arm, nose, and cracked ribs. Crying kid tumbles off the back of the bison, unharmed. It happened so fast, I couldn't even shout a warning. Park Ranger called him a F'ing dumbass as they loaded him into an ambulance.

Florida man should read DU prior to vacationing.

Stop thinking you are in a petting zoo. Some wild animals are sizing you up for dinner. Others just trying to get on wtih their lives. Was having dinner at Yellowstone lodge once and did not realize it was dinner and a show. Two bison decided this was a great time for some mating. During their show a guy (could have been from floriduh) gets out of his car with child and walks very near the entangled bison. Luckily for them the bison had other things on their minds.

You get warning after warning at the park. If you are stupid enough to ignore those warnings then FAFO. I'm glad he wasn't killed. Goring is brutal.

and yet, people still feel the need to try to approach all of the large animals.

I have no sympathy anymore for people who simply must do the opposite of whatever safety rules exist.
