What bothers me most about these current talks about changes in SSI and SS....

Is that the most privilege people in our Democracy have been using the SS trust funds to finance unpaid for wars, tax cuts for the wealthiest and the returns for people who invest...

If this isn't class warfare, I don't know what is.

I mean when you blatantly treat capital gains as more valuable to the country than wages what should we expect from the over entitled ruling class. The Romney's of the world never pay taxes at the same rate as school teacher, firefighters, office workers, store clerk, all the people that keep our society running for the benefit of the few.

How many democrats will just give up when it comes to voting for the lesser of two evils in future elections.

If they cave this time, then really, what is the point of supporting the one party with two heads.

I didn't vote for President Obama in November, I voted against hate & bigotry. I'm not doing that anymore. I'm going to start voting for something, because voting against something isn't working. I wrote to my senators & rep & let them know - support real democratic policies or lose my support & vote.

I worked in a grocery store for many years & I can attest that $40 a month is a big deal for many of our seniors. DU is littered with heartless comments like "It's only $40 a month!" When your income is already too little, $X a month is a huge, huge deal.

2. I will not vote for any politician who supports this. If that means not voting again, so be it.

It just makes me sick at heart to see Obama promoting these awful ideas.

5. Sadly, the only way the people get anything in this country is by screaming and yelling.

Big money is always quietly whispering in the ears of all our politicians, even the ones we think are our friends. We don't have that kind of access once the elections are over. That's why we need to scream and yell at them to remind them who voted them into office, and why.
