United Airlines allowing changes to flights out of Newark NJ - No fee

No charge if reservation was booked before May 4th and your travel dates are between May 6 And 17th.

On hold for 20 minutes - and changed my husband's flight out next Friday from EWR at 4:30 PM to Philly at 10:30 am via Chicago, and on to Rome. He hates the layover (likes flying direct) but he's humoring me.

I'm finally going to sleep tonight. I have slept for days worried about this.

Sharing because its worth a try!

I'm getting nervous. Fortunately, my return flight is through Houston - and the critical time, for ground transportation on arrival is that I arrive after noon. So if the only alternative arrives before noon (assuming they still have the problems a month from now), I can just hang around in the airport until ground transport is available.

United is not my favorite airline. But if they are offering this, it's worth a try. Maybe gets you through your connection earlier?

gives us free carry on and one free bag each. Since we fly at least once a year, the we more than pay for the fee in one flight. Occasionally we use Southwest, for the same reason - at least until recently the first bag flies free. I hate add-on fees that increase the price of the flight for 20-50%, depending on the base price.

So far, it looks like our dates are not covered, but I'll keep checking.

To change his outbound flight a few days ago was steep. His inbound flight we changed to Toronto, and then he was going to drive down to NJ to avoid Newark.

They switched them both to Philadelphia.

She’s going on her first vacation alone with her husband and their friends (sans kiddos). They’re flying out of Newark. I’m sure she’s a wreck. She doesn’t fly much and isn’t in love with doing it

I'm scared. We have flights over Christmas to our home in Calabria - the five siblings and families are going to gather there. We might cancel.

My sister just texted me yesterday about changing flights out of Newark. I think she’s out of luck unless she wants to purchase new flights.
I normally prefer flying into Newark from London when I visit the US, but will shift to Philly for now
