The Guardian newspaper, in 1833, published an article about the abolition of slavery in Great Britain. One hundred.....

......and ninety years later, in 2023, upon discovering evidence of their own involvement with slavery, they published another article explaining all of this. I cannot imagine any of our own mainstream news sources, who are now complicit in the administrations attack on our republic and our democracy, doing anything remotely similar. Oh, wait. They know what they are doing and, well they won't "own" it now, won't ever feel the need to own it later.

But for more than 100 years slavery was a UK institution in North America. Then after that king cotton built many UK cities.

The Crown has done a magnificent job shifting its role in slavery down to the footnotes. Bully for them.
