Anyone see the movie Sinners? Ryan Coogler showing American history in such a unique way while RWers are

trying to hide history.

- This has got to be an Oscar contender

Warning some SPOILERS ----------------------------------
Just like Black Panther was more than just a super hero movie.
Sinners is not just a vampire movie.

The film is set in Jim Crow South - Coogler includes various cultures/ethnicities. Blacks, Asians, Irish and Native Americans.
So many discussions online about not just the movie, but the history of all these cultures in America.

All these people trying to ban history need to realize, that you cannot hide history forever. To be clear, this is not a heavy handed movie about different cultures during that time - but the presence of those ethnicities, seems to have spiked a lot of curiosity.

- Irish

The central story is about twin brothers - played by Michael B. Jordan - They return to the South to open a juke joint after making money working for Al Capone - Even that spiked some historical discussions. The brothers fought in WWI before working for Capone.
The significance being that after fighting for America, many black soldiers came back to segregation, unable to find work to take care of their families, some found work being muscle for Capone and other gangsters. The gangsters valued their military experience.

Anyhoo, I love that this movie has sparked so much discussion about history.

Thinking I may have to give it a watch if/when it streams or the DVD comes out. The theater here plays volume so loud it is physically painful for me. Got ear plugs like musicians use, but it's not enough to buffer. I'll wait.

Such an enthralling story, with so much symbolism and history. Michael B. Jordan was phenomenal in the movie.

Layers upon layers upon layers…
I can’t wait to see what I missed as
My brain tried to piece the recollections
Of the stories together after the first watch…

I definitely want to see it again, it's so full of symbolism. I've been listening to the soundtrack all week. Phenomenal.

I took my teenage sons, the loved it, too.
