If he wants everyone in the USA to speak "American," then he had better decide if it's going to be Navajo, Hopi, Lakota, Wampanoag, Seminole, Cherokee, Iroquois, Tlingit, Inuit, or whatever tribal tongue he prefers. England, France, Portugal and Spain are in Europe, and are therefore European languages, widely spoken in the Western Hemisphere, but not native to the Americas.

(46 posts)English, especially American English, is a mutt language that has, as some have noted, adopted words and phrases from many languages, including Latin, Greek, French, Dutch, German, and Spanish. Just for the record.

(45,512 posts)If he really wants to make English the official language, he should take a few courses in it and learn how to use it. Most illiterate president ever one of the most illiterate people Ive ever seen.
