My head exploded when I first saw this, until I realized it's 100% "in character" for Trump, exploiting (and ultimately monetizing) this "event."YOU CAN BET YOUR ASS that by the end of the year, he'll be selling a replica of the "desktop" version.
The statue, complete with the Secret Service agents who bundled the president to the ground, captures the moment Trump raised his fist in the air and shouted, fight, fight, fight, after he was struck by shooter Matthew Thomas Crooks bullet on July 13 last year.
The figure was created by sculptor Stan Watts and symbolizes the divine intervention as well as the man and his message of unity and resilience for which America stands, according to the Trump Statue Projects website.
There are plans to create a 9-foot-tall version in bronze in the works, according to the projects website.

There is NO way that someone grazed by a bullet would stand up with a fist in the air, or that even inept SS agents would allow it.

(16,573 posts)It was blood spatter from the real victim. Which is why he had to keep a kotex on his ear for over a week. He couldn't let people see he was missed entirely.

(6,730 posts)what about the (alleged) shooter? Was his being shot by a police snipper staged as well? Or did he willingly give his life for Dear Donald? Maybe they lied and told him he would be allowed to escape?

(2,680 posts)I remember right after the shooting someone here posted a video of the alleged shooter before the fact saying that he had a secret (or something like that) - he was not the real shooter. Ive always wondered about that. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

(24,838 posts)...would have taken off his ear, or made a real mess of it.
Assault rifle bullets, no matter how direct or grazing the hit, do not leave eensy weensy teeny tiny paper cut scratches.
THAT part of it was FAKE. Someone ELSE getting killed that day was NOT.
Disaffected
(6,730 posts)The extent of the injury would depend directly on how much contact was made between the bullet and flesh no matter the size or speed of the bullet. IOWs, very little injury would result if the degree of contact was very small (degree of injury would be a continuum ranging from zero for a near miss to massive with a direct hit).
Miles Archer
(24,838 posts)...how likely would it have been that the bullet grazed him in a way that created an almost non-existent injury?
Sure. ANYTHING could have happened. I'm gonna say it was flying debris and not the actual bullet.
And even if it was, TRUMP MONETIZED A PAPER CUT and parlayed it into getting re-elected. His "ratings" were pretty bad before that day. He definitely capitalized on it in multiple ways.
Disaffected
(6,730 posts)would be considerably greater.
It was speculated a while ago the flying debris could have been the cause but AFAIK, it is not known where such debris would have originated (the closest object was a teleprompter but apparently that was not struck). Also doesn't look like blood splatter from the guy who got wacked. It would be instructive to see the medical report but I doubt for some reason that will happen.
The entire thing is very strange but yes, Trump did make good use of it no matter what the cause.

side as you're facing them, and he said metal from the stands was flying everywhere. Wondered if that's what hit djt. But there was that photo or video still-shot that supposedly showed the bullet in the air.
