Because DH is misrepresenting what is happening and the focus is all on him etc. when it should be on the party/elections etc. MK also said he got around 289 votes vs 215 that DH received.

about the untruthful messaging Hogg is engaging in. He’s not having it and is not going to let David get away with this.

One of Malcolm ‘s last statements, barely paraphrased: “Changing the Democratic Party doesn’t mean sitting on the sidelines saying Democrats suck. “

People are sick and tired of this undermining messaging when there’s a whole lot more to choose to criticize going on with republicans. I’m a big Malcolm fan — he is awesome!

with him and his PAC trying to primary incumbent Dems with some newbie who hasn't even proved they can beat another Dem in primary, much less a rethug in the general election.

And this when we're the party out of power and poised to gain multiple House seats, as is historically done in the mid-terms...unless someone full of himself fucks it up.

And the purist progressive wing of the left is the one that has pushed the idea of good money vs bad money, so if they are going to accept the same sorts of donations as those dastardly corporatist neoliberal blah blah blah Democrats, that doesn't make them much different now, does it? I guess both parties everyone is the same!

The party screwed up and elected two males for Executive Vice President when the party rules require one male and one female Executive Vice President. If Hogg can get more votes that Malcome Kenyatta, then he can serve. Here is a good explanation from Malcome Kenyatta

Kenyatta is trying to get this issue resolved quickly

NEW: DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta has asked Chairman Ken Martin to call an emergency meeting of full DNC to vote on resolution that would toss out his and David Hogg's election.

The first ballot in a potential re-run race would be Kenyatta v Hogg for male slot as vice chair.

One Male.
One Female.
One of either gender.

Kenyatta is being a good sport about this. He beat Hogg by a large margin.

Blanco was the woman elected, he is the male elected.

It should be Hogg and the other three candidates on the new ballot.

Kenyatta received 298 votes on the second ballot.
Hogg only had 214.

Because he was on. He wants the election date pulled in and clearly explained what the Democratic Committee does. They get candidates elected. They don't select primary candidates and weigh in on races.

Let the Primary candidates duke it out and in the GE - you get your candidates elected.

The Candidate drives their platform and messaging - the DNC Supports them.

Honestly Dem leadership is failing here. Why the fuck are they allowing/stoking this division?

We need young Dems together and not adversarial.

This is a total failure at the DNC (and another indicator that the old timers need replacing 🤬 )

Your takes sound uninformed about the dynamics of what is happening. I’m glad Malcolm is stepping in to keep this misinformation from morphing anymore. David could stop this, too. He should do the right thing.

Nice to find out the facts.
Challenge started in Feb (before Hogg's interviews)
It was initiated by someone that lost and not the committee.

I'll be more skeptical of Hogg's statements in the future.

26. Malcolm Kenyatta: David Hogg has 'very casual relationship with the truth'
Thu May 15, 2025, 06:54 PM

I saw this interview last night on MSNBC. I trust Malcome Kenyatta.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5302200-malcolm-kenyatta-david-hogg-dnc-vice-chair-election-redo/

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta slammed his fellow vice chair, David Hogg, on Wednesday, disputing the reason the gun control activist has said is why they may need to run for their positions again.

Kenyatta argued in an interview on MSNBC that he has tried to ignore what Hogg has been saying recently to avoid party infighting and division, but Hogg’s statement after the DNC’s Credentials Committee voted in favor of holding a new vice chair election “pushed me over the edge.”

“David has a very casual relationship with the truth,” he told host Symone Sanders Townsend. “And he has not been truthful on so many points that have been raised on this show.”

The Pennsylvania state legislator added that he’s “frustrated” with the decision to hold the election again given that he received considerably more votes than necessary to clinch one of the vice chair positions, but he respects it.

“But David’s first statement out of the gate was, here’s the Democratic Party doing some maniacal thing to push me out because of what he’s doing with his PAC,” Kenyatta said. “David knows that that is not true.”

but if the DNC screwed this up procedurally, is there a reason they can't simply ADD the woman who was left out incorrectly as an additional vice chair? Not saying they should have extra vice chairs every year, but it seems like no matter how this plays out, it is going to piss some people off if either David Hogg or Malcolm Kenyatta are removed, and perhaps it would be a better resolution to just live with the mistake, keep them both and add the woman who should have gotten the spot. Then follow the rules going forward.
