Does the Democratic Party need to make any changes?

Do they need to make changes in personnel or in policy? Or both?

Or do they just need to change the way they message, the way they talk to the people of the country?

Or do they not need to make any changes at all?

In my opinion, this is on the minds of many Democrats at this time.

But no one has come up with a consensus opinion.

3. I think the problem is

There is not one answer. Policy and messaging that work in one part of the country, doesn’t work in another. A candidate who can win in a rural district, won’t win in an urban district I don’t know how to solve the problem. I hope there are those who do.

4. I would suggest

we pick 2-3 core issues that resonate with people in all demographics of the country. Run on those, and then let Democrats tailor the rest of their message to what works in their location. It is also easier to drill 2-3 policy points into the public.

On edit, I would also add don't hope that the fascists criminality will be the main motivator in the election. The public obviously didn't care enough after two impeachments, 1/6 and the various other crimes.

7. Run some serious contenders and don't pit Dems against Dems.

Full disclosure, I live in Texas, so it's not the norm in politics. The following is my opinion as to why I make the statement that contenders need to be serious:

Colin Allred was great, but there was no way that he was going to beat Ted Cruz. Roland Gutierrez had a better shot but was shut out in the primary. If *I* knew that, why didn't the Democratic party? Why aren't they more in touch with the voters?

Again, it's Texas, and perhaps Dems don't see a win as a real possibility. But if that's the case, then they don't need to spend massive amounts of money backing ANYONE.

So, to further explain my point - Dems need to get into the trenches more, ask voters what is important to them more, get in touch with reality more - and for heaven's sake - speak out more and always. Dems must draw a comparison between what the Republicans are saying and doing with arguments that are sound and cannot be twisted back and forth. Facts, figures, etc.

Just my two cents. I know it's easy to sit back and be a keyboard warrior, and it's a lot harder for people to actually create change.

13. Mostly regarding messaging

I think policy wise we advocate for things people want. What needs to happen though is to stop taking the bait on their culture war stuff. Way too much of that crap. Way too many people who are too emotionally invested. It’s a terrible look and probably a turnoff.
