So it's garbage pickup day and as the truck comes down the street I look up to see if it's the familiar crew so I could return their waves. But, no. Not the familiar group of ethnic latinos, but a white male is driving the truck while a black man is riding in the passenger side.

Okay, just thought about it in passing.

And then on the drive around the community I pass another garbage truck and this time it's two white men. Hmm...so I guess it happened here. Probably the ethnic crew fled or got fired and they're rehiring mostly white men.

That's when it occurred to me that maybe, just maybe, these were the exact kind of jobs that MAGA felt they were being cheating out of. I mean, I haven't figured them out, so it's possible.

If so, I imagine it won't be long before they start to complain and demand higher pay.

2. My daughter is seeing that where she works in a paint/diy/commercial supply store.

She said the crews that used to come in and pick up supplies for jobs just aren't coming in anymore. Some contractors are sending in the homeowners to pick up the orders so their workers can stay on the job site. She said she felt really sorry for one older woman because she was almost in tears since she didn't really know what she was there to pick up.

3. I really hope that the landscape crew of this apartment complex isn't deported

5. What a strange comment.

I live in Florida. We have, or had an abundance of latinos working in agriculture, construction and public services. I just happen to point out that our regular garbage men, who have been servicing our community for decades, suddenly were replaced with white men. The newspapers have pointed out that our latino workers were disappearing from these jobs in Florida. And I just reported on what I personally observed.

6. last nights local news Tampa Bay area

Scripps broadcasting. Talking head was talking about the number of woman in the farm business so I took a break to watch and listen. Seems the woman that are left behind due to immigration problems now covers 26% of the poblano peppers pickers. The fool actually tried to make it sound that the woman enjoyed it and were gaining a skill. In a short interview with one of them the woman said it was either pick or get kicked off the farm and looking around the field trucks there were no men visible. Just a lot of women carrying bushel baskets of peppers to those truucks BTW. it was 94 degrees yday with no shade in the fields

7. I wish there was a way to call them out on their bigoted spin.

I imagine that now that white men will be taking these jobs, it's just a matter of time before we hear the real story.
