rather than a paid media whore.

Some background: Barbara Walters was a very close friend of Roy Cohn. And Cohn was the mentor, the protector of Donald Trump. I don't believe that Trump would have agreed to the posted interview if Cohn hadn't indicated that Walters would be "safe". You know, control the message.

But Walters was independent. She did her homework/research. And she threw it in Trump's face.

And like NYT journalist, Maggie Haberman, Trump kept returning to Walters, believing he could charm or distract her. And you can bet that Cohn made phone calls to Walters to go easy. And she didn't -- until Trump came on her show, The View. But then it was for entertainment, not journalism.
