Asked in hallway before me with the other evil ones, the orange felon said the following words at the end of a rant about everything and nothing which included comments about President Biden.
At the end
he said.
this government was illegally run for 4 years
Uttered as the last phrase before turning away.
Expect a flurry of doj investigations to begin sooner rather than later
Just saying.

(5,984 posts)When he utters something it is because he has been mulling it over for a while and his utterance is gospel to the cult members as it provides the distraction required as Russel V tears it all down.
Just my opinion.

(53,394 posts)...they'll find it at the 9600 level of the Lucky Friday mine by the time Trump's done with it.
What "level" means in a hard rock mine is the number of feet below the surface the tunnel is...so 9600 level is nearly two miles below the surface.

(1,987 posts)By Paul Waldman
As they struggle to arrive at a budget bill they can all agree on, Republicans in Congress might want to familiarize themselves with the story of Marjorie Margolies (then Margolies-Mezvinsky), who three decades ago briefly became the most famous first-term member of the House of Representatives. Her unfortunate fate was sealed when she cast the deciding vote for Bill Clintons 1993 budget, a bill that was good policy in many ways, but unquestionably bad politics. A year after that vote, Margolies was turned out of office, never to return.
The budget Republicans are now working to pass is terrible politics, and even worse as a matter of policy. If Democrats can get their act together, they can make its depredations a centerpiece of their 2026 campaign and punish every Republican who votes for it. Do that, and the upcoming midterms could become a repeat of 1994, the most sweeping midterm loss a presidents party has experienced in modern times.
This is a preview of Paul Waldman's latest column. Read the full column here.

(10,438 posts)He needs to bend reality in order to be in control. And he gets all his kicks from doing so.
I just had a couple of "lunatics" crying outside my window as they passed by. Clearly homeless. Clearly without control of their behavior, rummaging through clothes they'd accumulated. Then they moved on, leaving behind various objects they'd collected...

I feel bad for them. But they're not out to destroy democracy. They're just trying to cope the only way they know how. Now there are the police and some sort of traffic controller doing I don't know what. It's unsettling to say the least as it's all just outside my window. Just as our present administration of lunatics is permeating our lives with its lawless, alt-world machinations.

(10,486 posts)actions to object this increasingly blatant fascism, it will be too late.
I've been on DU since Shrub was elected, but I'm not "known" here. I don't have influence. I am dying for someone who does to boldly remind DU that objecting, however clearly, cleverly, snarkily, or whatever, on social media is not enough. We need to be in the streets. We are missing the moment. It will soon be too late.
My husband & I have been 3 in-person protest actions and are contacting our reps in Congress multiple times a week. We need guidance on what more we can do. And we need more people who share our objections to this fascist regime to join in. Soon.

(5,984 posts)Some may only be able to do phone work, or internet work, but there is need everywhere.
All people need to do is contact the local democratic office.
They can even help arrange rides. If you are interested in physically working and protesting the need is great and the more people the better.
For all who lurk at DU, Go local, get active. It will make you feel better than just reading headlines.
FYI: Im a DU nobody too, but the great thing about democracy is that the smallest pebble can have a great impact if applied appropriately.
Be the pebble, find that crack and break it.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
