May 20, 2025– another Tuesday, another special election, and another political loss for Demagogue/Dictator wannabe Donald. This time, it’s in Brooklyn, New York. In this borough, with more than 95% of the votes counted, Democrat Sam Sutton clobbered his GOP rival Nachman Caller by the humongous margin of 35.2%--67.6%-32.4% to win a special election for the NY State Senate. https://www.270towin.com/news/2025/05/20/live-results-new-york-state-senate-special-election_1735.html
This special election took place to fill the vacancy left when Democrat Simcha Felder resigned this past April after winning a special election for a seat on the NY City Council. This state senate race was watched carefully because the GOP was hoping to flip this seat to the “Red” camp. Why? Because, even though this state senate district is 49.7% Democratic v. 21.1% Republican in registration, Donald took 77% of its vote in the 2024 presidential election. The Empire State Senate District 22 is located in southern Brooklyn and includes part or all of the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Borough Park, Midwood, Madison, Gravesend, Sheepshead Bay, and Marine Park.
