Israeli troops fire warning shots at 25 diplomats visiting occupied West Bank
Shots force delegation representing 31 countries, including Italy, Canada, Egypt and UK, to run for cover
Israeli troops fired warning shots towards a group of 25 diplomats visiting Jenin in the Israel-occupied West Bank on Wednesday, prompting a wave of outrage and calls for an investigation from world leaders and ministers.

The group was on an official mission organised by the Palestinian Authority to observe the humanitarian situation there. The Israeli military said the visit had been approved but the delegation deviated from the approved route and Israeli soldiers fired warning shots to distance them from the area.
The Canadian, British, French and other European ministers summoned Israeli ambassadors in their respective capitals to explain the unacceptable incident, which will fuel already growing international anger and concern as Israel continues its offensive in Gaza and ramps up the expansion of settlements in the West Bank that are illegal under international law.

The IDF said it regretted the inconvenience caused and that senior officials would contact diplomats to inform them of the results of its internal investigation into the incident.

Thankfully, there are still a few sane people in Israel, brave enough to condemn this likudnik madness.
Israel is on the path to becoming a pariah state among the nations ,like the South Africa of old, if it does not return to behaving like a sane country, Golan said.

The Democrats Party chairman Yair Golan addressed the war in the Gaza Strip during an interview on Monday with Kan Reshet Bets This Morning program, saying: A sane country does not kill babies for a hobby.

A sane country does not wage war against civilians, does not kill babies for a hobby, and does not set goals involving the expulsion of populations.
These things are simply appalling, he continued. It cannot be that we, the Jewish peoplewho have suffered persecution, pogroms, and genocide throughout our history, and who have served as a moral compass for Jewish and human valuesare now taking actions that are simply unconscionable.
Golan placed direct blame on the government, stating that it is filled with people who have nothing whatsoever to do with Judaism Kahanist types, lacking wisdom, morality, and the ability to manage a state during an emergency. This is dangerous to our very existence. That is why its time to replace this government as soon as possible, so this war can also come to an end.

This ends any question.
I feel for the people of Israel, they are in kind of the same situation that we are in, hostages to a monster or at least thats what it looks like to me

(184 posts)Most of them do not understand about the pre-WWII Zionist terrorism; nor the Nhkba. They do not want to believe countless children are assassinated in Gaza; and they are told that Palestinians are all blood hungry.
When you believe lies, how can you behave humanly?

(8,494 posts)There are power broker factions, on all sides of this continuous conflict, (including the US) who do not want a lasting, two state, peaceful solution, and never did.
And ordinary people pay the price.
Imo, (and that of others) people, have a right to peace...
(and sumptin-sumptin about "inalienably endowed"... liberty... happiness... life... etc etc.)
