Kansas slashes food aid for children of illegal immigrants (Children US Born)

Pedro moved to the Kansas City area about 13 years ago and has held the same job for 11.

Though he sometimes struggles to pay bills, he knows most people think he should receive no public aid. He’s an illegal immigrant. He doesn’t deserve handouts. He understands that.

“I’ve never asked for anything for myself,” said Pedro, who didn’t want his last name used to protect his family. “Never. I just work. Work hard.”

A new debate swirling around Kansas, though, isn’t about Pedro. It’s about two of his three children. They were born here, and one day they will have driver’s licenses and the right to vote, just like any other U.S. citizen.

1. You should change the title so it's clear that it is to American children of illegal immigrants.

as well as their parents don't deserve a stigma for not being citizens.

When I read the title I assumed the children were US born. I think it's too late to change but I'll try.

6. I have worked with kids who were born here

and their Moms were born here, but their Dad's were illegals, yet people have said that these kids also should be denied their citizenship rights. They want BOTH parents to be born here, even if the kid was born in the US.

Why do I feel so dirty living here?

I pay taxes to live in a civilized society. This is not civilized. No child should be denied food for any reason.
