Trump Suffered Mental Anguish and Confusion From 60 Minutes Kamala Harris Interview, Lawyers Claim in Bid to Deny Dismissal
President Trump suffered mental anguish and confusion as a result of how 60 Minutes and CBS deceptively edited its interview with Kamala Harris leading up to the 2024 election, the presidents lawyers said in a legal filing on Wednesday.
The filing is an objection to parent company Paramount Globals push to dismiss his $20 billion lawsuit against CBS for how it edited the Harris interview last year.

(61,102 posts)Could someone have sue The Apprentice because it was obviously not just edited, but scripted? Wouldn't this be true for every "reality show"?
As to Harris's interview, in my opinion she did not seem different than in any other interview. Even if you back to when she was a Senator, she was DEVASTATING in hearing asking well constructed initial questions and pursuing more information in followup questions. Although staff could have written the initial question a Senator asked, they could not have crafted every followup. (though they might have researched many things that could later guide the Senator in creating followups.) I was always fascinated by seeing legislators in hearings as you can see who did their homework and how were just reading a series of prewritten questions. The former were far better and were the ones that often opened up important questions. Harris was one of those.
So, why when Harris sounded smart, engaged and serious, was Trump confused and suffering mental anguish? I suggest that it is because he believed the RW alternative reality of who Harris was. That she was never the vacuous, stupid woman that they said was is NOT the fault of CBS. Further, I wonder if he ever thought about the degree to which Fox and those to its left always edited him. Without that editing most of his office the cuff comments are unacceptable.
I hope they bring up another point. There was absolutely no other media or even DU chatter that this interview 1) showed her in a light never seen before 2) appeared to have discontinuities due to editing or 3) led to a huge increase in support for Harris.

(12,082 posts)merger unless he gets enough extortion money. You are right. Harris did nothing wrong. This is a bogus case. Trump knows that. Paramount know that, but like a good mafia boss, Trump will get his payday.

(115,644 posts)He knows that Paramount wants a merger with another huge company, that would be worth billions to them, and they need the government's approval to get it done. Trump wants them to pay him a huge sum of money so they can get their merger approved. He has them over a barrel. Nothing more than simple extortion.
