In reading all the News stories about the Ice raids and deportations, it looks to me that they are not going after undocumented immigrants. Instead they are taking people that came here legally, people who entered through various programs that allow them to stay.
This is not about "illegal immigration" this is about going after people who are not white.

(2,173 posts)They took one guy from Denmark and they have taken people here illegally as well. They are going after everyone they can. Not everyone getting caught is making the news.

(37,404 posts)this is about immigrants, not "illegal immigrants"
And picking up a few white people is just a side show when their quota is not met.

(130,826 posts)especially if Latino or Black, and sometimes even if they are actual citizens, not just legal residents. Even white Europeans have been caught in the dragnet, like the Danish guy who's lived here for years, has a wife, kids and a job, but some paperwork was missing - maybe just to make it clear that nobody is safe. Better have your papers on you at all times; Stephen Miller doesn't want any immigrants.

(151,410 posts)those ICE "officers" just cuff 'em and haul 'em, before anyone gets a chance to object. The individual can't object, because even if he or she has papers on hand, those just disappear in the process of arresting, and quickly deporting.
If you're a citizen and get hauled off and your ID confiscated, you're going to have a very hard time proving who you are once you land in some other country.
There is nobody watching these cops, nor holding them to any sort of account at all. We don't even know who they are. For all I know, they're Proud Boys rounded up and given masks and ICE POLICE vests and told to cuff 'em and haul 'em. How can you hold them to account if you don't know who they are?
It's really really fucked up!

(37,404 posts)one or two white people doesn't change the fact they are going after POC.

(2,173 posts)They are going after all immigrants they choose to. Stop with this shit. Wrong is wrong. These monsters don't care. Just like the KKK lynched white Catholics and Italians as well. What difference does it make? It's still evil. Evil has no color or sex barriers.

(38,716 posts)They are going after anyone (regardless of color) at easy catch and kill (ports of entry, immigration appointments, student or other visas, court cases. Anyone they can find/invent a reason to deport at easy places to do so.
But random raids/traffic stops/etc. they are focusing predominantly on people of color - people who look like they came from south/central america.
So no - they are not excluding non BIPOC because they are after the numbers and they don't care who they deport. But they are more specifically - in places where there isn't a simple catch and kill, they are focusing on BIPOC.

(2,173 posts)It's easier pickings at those locations. But the truth is, all immigrants within reason, are vulnerable. They all need protection and our concern.

(37,404 posts)Like they weren't formed and and was a White Supremacist mob almost entirely directed at the suppression of Black people.
Are you saying the KKK was color neutral?
BeerBarrelPolka
(2,173 posts)You must not know much about the KKK. They didn't just hate blacks.

(2,173 posts)A little info for you:
Violence and intimidation: The Klan engaged in acts of violence and intimidation against Catholics, including cross burnings and attacks on Catholic institutions like the University of Dayton.
Political influence: The Klan actively sought to influence politics and pass anti-Catholic legislation, such as the Oregon School Bill, which aimed to eliminate private schools and force Catholic children into public schools.
Restriction of immigration: The Klan advocated for policies like the Immigration Act of 1924, which severely limited immigration from Southern and Eastern Europe, effectively halting Catholic immigration.
Do more research and find out for yourself....

(37,404 posts)just like Trump, no racism at all, just an equal opportunity hate group. Nothing to do with black people.
I am very sure the numbers would show an even distribution of black and white lynching victims.
Just like Trump is not overwhelmingly deporting POC.
Just like the Holocaust was about the people the Nazis didn't like, not about the Jews, because, they killed other people too.
Are you also going to tell me the Civil War was about States Rights and not Slavery?
BeerBarrelPolka
(2,173 posts)that affected people from many walks of life. It's not a competition. Ask any survivor of hate or violent crime and they will tell you that. Hate is very rarely laser focused. It spreads like wild fire. Everyone is in this together, or we all fall down together.
edhopper
(37,404 posts)was not mainly an anti-Black hate group is to ignore what they were.
Just like ignoring what Trump is doing is because of his White Supremacists views is not dealing with what is going on.
Explain his welcoming of White South Africans if it is "only about immigrants" without regard to color?
BeerBarrelPolka
(2,173 posts)I was just expanding what they were to you. This should be an eye opener for you that things aren't always what they might first appear to be, especially in regards to Trump.
Don't think for a minute Trump likes "white people" in general. He only likes certain kinds of white people. All others are disposable to him.

(130,826 posts)But they still count in satisfaction of the quotas, so a white immigrant with imperfect documentation will be fair game.
Ms. Toad
(38,716 posts)They are shooting fish in a barrel - everyone they can easily find an deport solely to pump up numbers:
* Ports of entry - any non-US citizen they can find/invent a reason to deport (too many clothes, equipment tied to working in the US (tattoo guns), bartering for housing
* Appointments with immigration
* Court cases
* Student visas
