Even on a list published by The Star Ledger.
My town is comprised of almost 42% immigrants, some legal, some otherwise.
There would be a significant tumult if ICE were to come to our town.
I don't believe our local police would assist as they try their damnedest to keep the community peaceful.
But if residents fled, there would be marked vacancies in housing. (The town is mostly absentee landlords.) And those vacancies wouldn't necessarily be filled.
Our school would be emptied of students. Less students equal less state and federal aid. Less teachers.
Would neighbors get involved if they saw ICE detain and arrest other neighbors?
This Shock Doctrine would change the face of our town and we'd be used as an example for other Sanctuary Cities.
My suspicion is that our town would be Ground Zero if only for the small area and large concentration of immigrants.
