A federal immigration enforcers tattoo that matches the description of a symbol used by white supremacists has caused some Vineyarders to sound alarm bells.
Islanders reviewing a video posted on social media by Charlie Giordano who confronted federal agents while they detained immigrants on Marthas Vineyard have pointed to a tattoo of three interconnecting triangles on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents right tricep: a valknot.
The Anti-Defamation League characterizes the valknot as an old Norse symbol that often represented the afterlife in carvings and designs. While not a racist illustration on its own, the League stated that the symbol had been appropriated as a racist symbol by some white supremacists, particularly racist Odinists.

(1,390 posts)People have so many damn tattoos now, it would literally take a rosetta stone to decipher what each one means on every person.
I remember one time years back, an acquaintance got a tattoo around his bicep with some Japanese lettering that he saw somewhere and he thought looked "cool"....Later on, he was at Disney World in Orlando and a Japanese person saw it and loosely translated it to him and his girlfriend and it meant "asshole".

(53,540 posts)about other people's tattoos, I guess it is only fair that the same be done to them.
That said, I have to wonder what kind of people would actually do the things required of ICE agents under Trump. They don't sound like people I'd like being around.
