Fetterman had my enthusiastic support back then.

He has some serious issues that he has failed to address and his response to any pressure to actually do his job is to go over to the party that will happily blow smoke up his ass.

Not sure what your point is here.

...have helped -- or, in a best-case scenario, ultimately failed to (thank god) -- propel some very questionable characters into the national spotlight.

That brand of progressives needs to do a better job vetting the candidates they support.

Not being old and/or not being an experienced and time-tested Democratic higher-up as their main criteria for who passes their progressive purity test has led to some pretty damn un-progressive people.

I LOVE AOC and hope the old guard finally lets up on her to really let her shine in the party. But Bernie draws the crowds. It's just so bad for us that he's beyond an age to be elected. If we could run a younger Bernie, we'd have it made. In that, I have hope for AOC, if only this country can get past it's misogyny. On that one, I don't have a lot of hope in seeing it in the time I have left on earth.

As a many-year resident of RI before moving to the low country of SC, I had a few occasions to shake Sheldon's hand and didn't want to let go. Now I have Lindsey.

The fact that Lawrence often has Sheldon as a guest commentator is just one more reason to love Lawrence too.

The OP put no restrictions on the inspirational prople being only politicians, so:

Also Jen Psaki, Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell

To be a Democratic-leaning prominent member of the press these days has meant an increasingly tenuous hold on your job. These three have been fearlessly uncompromising in an environment that is quite able and increasingly willing to silence them.

I would also have to give honorable mention to Iowa’s Rob Sand, the only Democrat to currently hold statewide office in Iowa. He nevertheless has a credible chance to become that state’s next governor. He is THAT good at navigating the fine line one has to thread to win such an election. He’d be a brilliant governor, too. It’s the getting there that’s the hard part.

because he has begun teaching the generation of professional public sector managers we will need to dig our way back to "civilization" in the post trump wreckage.

i'm very pleased with bernie. walz, aoc, jasmin crockett, schiff, whitehouse, murray, warren, and others. but they all need to say "NO!" to all his appointments, esp judges.

It takes a strainer to the many years of Bernie's voting in Congress to determine if he has ever veered away from the ideals of the hard-working Americans who sustain and are the backbone to the US.
I do not believe he has, but then again, someone out there would be able to take a microscope to see where Bernie has stood throughout the decades.

Nonetheless, and more importantly at this moment in time, he is a brave and almost lone voice out there; still. I am so grateful for everything he is doing to stand unwavering with his criticism of what is going on with this billionaire banana republic takeover of the US. It is happening at a breakneck pace, but Bernie and AOC have stood up to challenge these times.
