but his latest tweet (which I read on bluesky) could teach us a little bit about messaging. "Call your Senator, Call your Congressman, Bankrupting America is NOT ok! KILL THE BILL" he just tweeted.
I'm well aware that he only wants to kill the bill because he thinks it hurts him financially in some way (and I don't care why he thinks that), and that he wants to cut Medicaid MORE, as well as all programs that actually help people. I get it.
But the simplicity of the message, and not getting bogged down in the details is something we could learn from.
How about Kill the Bill Before It Kills You?

(19,496 posts)Musk is on a grand public relations tour to mend and repair his brand so his wallet is not decimated.
Rather than the greedy Capitalist- his best route right now is to repair and better manage the public perceptions of Elon Musk.
eLoon has become a champion of the common every day voter/man. Now doesn't that new persona make you want to rush out and buy a brand new Tesla or two ?
Say something nice about eLoon on Twitter and he will give you $500,000.00. How is that for fence mending - Kabuki Theater ?

(7,026 posts)This spaced out Nazi will go down as one of historys most infamous mass murderers for his illegal and unconstitutional decimation of USAID. Total indifference to human life. 🤬 He should spend the rest of his vile days penniless and in a small cell for his crimes against humanity.
That said I agree with the point of the original poster and others who echoed it: our messaging needs to be equally crisp and effective in getting to the heart of the matter Stop this killer bill as your life depends on it or something to that effect as the earlier posters proposed. Nothing wrong with using effective tactics in pursuit of a just and moral outcome, saving the lives of those who will die if it passes. ✊🏼

(3,974 posts)I was listening to Schumer this am and he talked about agreeing with Musk this one time. He missed the opportunity to loudly message that BTW Musk only cares about himself and his bottom line and gives not one damn about the consequences of this terrible bill for millions of people.

(3,150 posts)And only now, I realize how prudish and hyper-sensitive people have become about sexuality. There have always been queer people throughout human history. I am sure there have been many atrocities leveled against gay people throughout the years. But it seems to me, the past 50 years has taken it to a whole new level. After all, the Bible discusses Sodom and Gomorrah without blushing. It barely even pauses to observe the same sex activities.
And then we have the origin of this popular phrase about politics (in the title of this post). That apparently came from Shakespeare in The Tempest (2:2), "Misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows." Coming from Shakespeare's lips (or pen), there is no notice of the same-sex reference (man ... fellows), because it just wasn't a big deal in that time and place. But today, we are so terrorized of our own sexuality that we have to remove Harvey Milk's name from a ship? WTF. When do we start burning witches again?

(18,892 posts)Musk has said since 2021 at least that he doesn't need EV credits and in fact... TSLA might do better without them as the credits are helping new EV co's like Rivian, Lucid, Hyundai and VW... kill EV credits and it might kill the new EV makers.
IMHO... kill EV credits and Rivian and Lucid may go under.
