The big beautiful bill is estimated to add $2.4 trillion to the debt.

It also includes $3.7 trillion in tax cuts. Why do we keep borrowing money to give tax cuts?

Deficits only matter when a Democrat is President.

40 years on and millions of stupid Americans are still duped into believing in Trickle "On" Economics and the Two Santa Claus theory.

Hell even I'm a capitalist in the marketplace who is capitalizing on the demand. I'm smart enough to know that investing in the marketplace doesn't make me a job creator.

...big corporations and the wealthy hold over the economy. Failure by either party to keep providing these cuts will--in their hostage letter's reading at least--result in them shutting down economic growth by moving their production and their money to places that will heed their demands, and also force them to use their enormous political spending against them.

Caught between the maniacs with the sword and a public that demands the government actually provide services, the politicians have found it all-too-convenient to borrow money to run the government--thereby keeping both sides only mildly annoyed.

Perhaps it is a simple evolutionary reality that humans are not really capable of organizing their thinking for very far into the future--not even for the sake of the kids. Early bands of humans didn't have to think much beyond the day. They would find more food tomorrow and follow it wherever it led them. The agricultural revolution made humans begin to think in terms of seasons, but with very limited control over their environment they could not organize much past that and guarantee reliable results.

Even with a much better view of the future, what is our practical timeline for being concerned about it and organizing for it? A decade at best? Sure, we see what the future could hold, yet we mostly ignore it in favor of the now--inventing all sorts of reasoning and mythology to allow us to keep up the charade. Every human brain seems to have a circuit labeled, "life is short; then you die." It allows us to know that we are destroying our climate while still purchasing SUVs and heat pumps and cheap goods made in environmentally-disastrous factories--despite the kids. It also allows us to borrow a seemingly-unlimited amount of money to give tax cuts to our hostage takers who also do not care about the future or they would not be demanding them.

So we do this dance of mutually assured destruction. But it doesn't matter, because life is in fact short; you do in fact die; and the kids can just work it out on their own.

Produce other awful results which are good democratic party attack points.
